TWO bearded dragons joined the cast of Blackadder at Dudley Zoo when education assistant Amy Hickman named the lizards after her favourite TV comedy.
Amy, of Sedgley, said: “I had already called two other bearded dragons in our collection Baldrick and Edmund so I just carried on the theme and named the new ones Percy and Queenie.
“I’m a real fan of the TV series and I think the names rather suit the species.”
The two-year-old lizards were donated by Lynn Coaton, of Heron Road, Oldbury. The gentle-natured creatures belonged to her daughter Hannah, who was unable to take the lizards with her when she went to university.
The newcomers have settled in well with fellow beardies five-year-old Edmund and Baldrick, aged six.
The Blackadder Four have joined the collection in the site’s discovery centre education block and are used in educational lectures and Outreach visits to community groups.
