Luxurious new look

Jay Rue

BIRMINGHAM’S swish Bambu club is reopening next Friday after a two month break for a facelift.

And the Chinatown venue has recruited one of Birmingham’s best known promoters to keep the glamorous punters happy.

Jay Rue, who has over a decade’s experience of putting glitzy nights on in Birmingham, is in charge of booking the best acts to appear at Bambu.

“I am delighted to come on board with Bambu as it is Birmingham’s premier nighttime venue,” says Jay.

“And I am looking forward to introducing the best music policy in Birmingham and getting the cream of DJs at the club.”

And the club’s association with global music brand Hed Kandi is still stronger than ever.

Jay adds: “Our opening night is in association with Hed Kandi and we are the longest running club in the world outside of Ibiza to have a weekly Hed Kandi residency.

“We have been delighted to see the Hed Kandi brand explode across the world in the seven years since they have been having Friday nights at Bambu.”

The opening night next Friday, October 3, will see Phil Faversham and Jim Breese providing the cutting edge house sounds.

The club has been refurbished with new booths complete with their own fridges in a bid to ramp up the luxury at the Wrottersley Street venue.

Bambu owner Eddie Boulton says: “We were the first to bring a bit of London to Birmingham where friends can enjoy each other’s company in privacy in a club atmosphere.

“We felt it was time to give the venue a facelift as we want to ensure our high standards are kept.

“However, we are keeping the venue the same as it is obviously very popular and felt the ‘if it’s not broke don’t fix it’ policy was the best way.

“We have tweaked a few things, built new toilets, increased the luxury in the booths and are introducing an all important smoking area at the venue.”
