Jason Byrne's show is bigger than ever

IRISH stand-up Jason Byrne is embarking on his largest ever UK tour with his 2007 Edinburgh sell-out show, bizarrely titled Shy Pigs With Wigs Hidden In Twigs.

Jason, whose comedy credits include two Perrier Award nominees, will kick off his tour in Birmingham next Thursday with an appearance at mac in Cannon Hill Park. The tour then runs until March 15.

The comic says: "The name of the show is purely derived from an obsession with an animal theme and absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with pigs, wigs, or even twigs."

He adds that the show is filled with every-day occurrences, such as becoming a dad for the second time, a meeting with Prince Charles and Camilla at the Royal Variety Show after his performance last year, and also includes a magic trick that would allegedly put David Copperfield to shame.

Tickets are £12.50 from 0121 440 3838.
