Mark Watson finds time for stand-up

Mark Watson

MULTI-tasking comedian Mark Watson will be wearing his stand-up hat when he comes to Birmingham next Wednesday.

Mark remains one of the UK's most prolific comics, but combines live stage appearances with BBC shows and writing books when he can find the time.

This year alone he has had his second novel published, had two new comedy shows, which he wrote himself, transmitted on BBC, performed two 24 hour marathon shows in Edinburgh and in Melbourne, and sold out every show during his month-long run at the Edinburgh Festival.

To add to the workload, he has also started writing his third book, entitled Crap At The Environment, which is due to be published this April.

This stems from an invitation to take part in a three day seminar on the environment, which took place in Australia, hosted by former US president Al Gore.

Mark, who can also be seen regularly on TV comedy quiz shows Mock the Week and Never Mind The Buzzcocks, will be hoping to delight audiences in Birmingham when he brings his latest stand-up show to the Glee Club on Wednesday.

The show is entitled Can I Briefly Talk To You About The Point Of Life? in response to a religious evangelist asking him that question recently.
