Sean Lock, Hippodrome Theatre

THERE are few subjects that fail to escape the offbeat attentions of Sean Lock.

The long serving team captain on Channel 4's 8 Out Of 10 Cats is able to get a lot of things off his chest in his more established role as a stand up comedian.

Lock possesses a relaxed, easy-going style that endears him to his audience, while masking his often surreal observations. He confesses that he doesn't do adverts or voiceovers because he always sounds like he doesn't mean it.

He then proceeds to delight with his off the wall insights into topics such as wrong phone calls, the smoking ban and global warming.

But even that was topped by a man in the audience who shouted out that he thought Sean was Frank Skinner.
