French and Saunders, Hippodrome Theatre

WHAT a send off! Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders are finally calling it a day after 30 years with this farewell UK tour.

And the talented comediennes served up a wonderful treat to remind us of what has gone before - and what we'll be missing.

French and Saunders introduced a number of favourite and familiar routines including the original Absolutely Fabulous sketch, with Dawn playing Saffy, and a revolting appearance by the two fat men from their TV shows. Clever use was made of a large screen behind the stage, both to link in with the live action and introduce impersonations from Joan and Jackie Collins to Catherine Zeta Jones and the film Baby Jane.

But the thread running through the show was the 'rivalry' between Ab Fab and The Vicar Of Dibley which led to the amazing appearance of a 12 foot high Geraldine Grainger. Performances end on Saturday.
