Rock With Laughter

On Saturday 9 August, The Birmingham Mail is proud to present “Rock With Laughter” at Ragley Hall in Alcester.

You will be treated to a variety-style evening and a heady mix of bands and comedians all engaged to ensure you enjoy a good chortle, tap your feet and go home smiling !

The MC is one of Britain’s most familiar comic faces, the ubiquitous Lenny Henry. Helping him to keep the smiles on your faces will be Jasper Carrott, and for those in the audience who like something alternative, there’s the anarchic Jo Brand.

The musical delights will come from The Manfreds and Elkie Brooks, plus The Blockheads (Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick) with Buzzcocks team leader Phill Jupitus. To end the night the most famous of all tribute bands, The Bootleg Beatles, complete with their orchestra, re-create the sounds of the Fab Four.

Chris Bailey, event manager for promoters IML Concerts, said

“This is a show with something for everyone and we are looking forward to having a good laugh with all the audience at this historic home. There will be three decades of music and comedy stars on one stage on one night – surely a first for an outdoor show in such a picturesque setting – and we feel that this show will appeal across many age groups.”
