Panic! At The Disco @ Civic Hall, Wolverhampton

PANIC! give new meaning to the word frenetic.

In an hour long set, the Las Vegas foursome bounded their way through song after song seemingly without pausing for breath.

Lead singer Brendon Urie raced around the stage, dashing between microphone, piano and elsewhere and sped through tracks like the band were desperate to catch the last bus home.

Even his foray into the audience to meet fans was at lightning speed.

The energy levels were so high songs crashed into each other like a train heading for derailment - I was left exhausted just by watching it.

En route Panic! took in not only their smash hit album A Fever You Can't Sweat Out and singles including the catchy Lying Is The Most Fun a Girl Can Have Without Taking Her Clothes Off but they also managed to bash out frantic versions of Radiohead's Karma Police and Smashing Pumpkins' Tonight, Tonight.

Sadly let down by a sound system which meant that many of the band's esoteric lyrics were indecipherable, what was lost in clarity was more than made up for in enthusiasm.

And it was met by a sold-out Civic filled with enraptured fans who greeted Panic! like the return of long-lost prophets and left with little doubt the ticket had been money well spent.
