M3 @ Robin 2, Bilston

M3, also, confusingly, know as ClassicWhitesnake, took to the stage to deliver a set from the '78 to '84 glory years of the 'Snake.

The crowd of mostly fortysomethings were treated to all of the classics, from the opening Walking in the Shadow of the Blues to Slow and Easy, when the crowd really came to life.

Despite the lack of David "The Voice" Coverdale, the magic was there.

Bernie Marsden, Micky Moody and Neil Murray have played together for more years than they care to remember and the pedigree clearly shows.

Moody's blues-influenced licks were countered perfectly by Marsden's rock riffs. It was a pleasure to watch two such accomplished guitarists improvise with each other.

Mr Coverdale he ain't, but Stefan Bergen gave a passionate performance on vocals.
