Lostprophets @ NIA

CUTE lead singer in skin-tight jeans - check. Anthemic rock tunes that send the crowd crazy - check. Lostprophets have all the ingredients of a top Brit rock band, but their live performance puts them on another par.

It was easy to see why they picked up best British band at Kerrang's awards as their shadows eerily rocked behind a white curtain for show opener Heaven for the Weather, Hell for the Company.

Fresh and lively, the Welsh rockers' adrenoline was contageous, spreading through the audience like the Mexican Wave that chirpy frontman Ian Watkins organised half way through the gig.

Whether it was brand new material or favourites like Last Summer, Rooftops and Start Something, the band thrashed to perfection.

They even managed to squeeze a rock rap version of the Fresh Prince of Bel Air theme tune into Town Called Hypocrisy without it sounding bizarre.

As the show closed with the words 'Game Over' on screen, it seemed an apt finish to such a thrilling 90 minute ride.
