The Enemy @ Birmingham Academy

THE Enemy played their biggest gig of their fledgling career at Birmingham's Academy and did not let themselves down.

With more energy than a crateful of Lucozade, all three lads played their part and gave everything for their fanatical fans.

Over 3,000 people packed into the Academy and reminded me what a fantastic venue it can be when both the crowd and the band are up for it.

Crowd surfing, moshing, pogoing, beer throwing and whatever else teenagers do when they are having fun at a concert accompanied The Enemy's big single's 40 Days and 40 Nights and Had Enough.

It is great that these three lads from Coventry and Castle Bromwich are putting the West Midlands back on the music map by being at the vanguard of a new generation of guitar bands.

Glastonbury is the next stop for The Enemy. I might try and get a ticket because, as the old Perry Barr proverb states, 'Keep your friends close but The Enemy closer.'
