Henry Rollins, Wulfrun Hall, Wolverhampton

FORMER American punk rock star Henry Rollins now spends more time performing observational humour and reminiscing about his colourful life.

Coming on stage to huge applause, the ex-Black Flag vocalist went through stories ranging from his recent and, in his own words, ill-advised visit to Pakistan to tasting coffee in the Lebanon, where the drink was so strong he was able to converse with a family in his own unique, unintelligible language.

Over the next three hours other tales ensued, delivered at breakneck speed, including the wonderful story of how he was invited to front the great 70s punk band The Ruts for a one-off gig.

Henry Rollins doesn't go out to offend, unless you include certain countrymen, but what he does in between the humour is make you think about how small and wonderfully diverse the world really is.
