Kate Nash, Wolverhampton Civic Hall

EXPECTATIONS were high as newly-crowned Brit and NME awards winner Kate Nash took to the stage.

The 20-year-old demonstrated the freshness and talent that has impressed judges so much as she sauntered through her array of quirky, chatty songs.

Seated centre stage at the keyboard, Nash tinkled the ivories, standing for the occasional song, such as the beautifully serene Birds.

Despite having just the one album, Made Of Bricks, Nash performed for just over an hour adding a few new tracks.

Big hit Foundations came just before the encore, with one fan throwing a slice of lemon at Nash as she sang her "bitter like a lemon" line.

There's flashes of brilliance in her songs, she's got the passion of a real entertainer and something completely unique.
