Ektomorf & Stuck Mojo, JB's, Dudley

HUNGARIAN thrashers Ektomorf have a lot of bridges to build with the hardy souls who braved a cold evening in the Black Country following their no-show here.

The reasons for their refusal to play were contradictory - reports that Zoltan Farkas' girlfriend had been taken ill were later refuted by a Hungarian journalist who told me the tetchy singer had got the hump because JB's was, to put it kindly, less than full.

No matter, the fans deserved some kind of explanation for being let down so badly.

Thankfully the evening was salvaged by mighty southern/rap rockers Stuck Mojo who gave their joint headliners a lesson on how to treat your audience.

In guitarist Rich "The Duke" Ward, they have a man who would perform with the same zeal whether he was playing at Wembley Stadium or the bus stop outside JB's.

He even invited those present to join him for fish and chips up the road after the show!
