Hadouken! Carling Academy, Birmingham

ON a hot, steamy night at the Academy everyone was up for a party - and boy, did they get one.

Hadouken! delivered in style, sending a packed house home sweaty and happy.

The Leeds five-piece reeled off a succession of songs from their new album Music for Accelerated Culture.

They kicked off with Get Smashed Gatecrash and finished with a rousing That Boy That Girl.

In between they crammed in Game Over, Liquid Liver, Leap of Faith, Crank It Up and What She Did.

Support came from MIT, who sang mostly in German including, bizarrely, a rendition of Whigfield's Saturday Night.

And there was a cracking set from Click Click, who warmed us up for Hadouken!'s red-hot performance.
