Pixie Lott and Little Boots join line-up for Birmingham's Christmas lights switch-on

Birmingham’s Christmas celebrations are hotting up with the announcement of further top acts at the city’s free Christmas Lights Switch On concert on Saturday November 14.

Pixie Lott and Little Boots

Pop stars Pixie Lott and Little Boots, who have both taken the charts by storm this year, will be performing at the five-hour concert at Millennium Point, which ends at 7:30pm when the Sugababes will switch on the city’s Christmas lights accompanied by a spectacular fireworks display.

The concert, which starts at 2pm, is organised by Birmingham City Council with artists provided by BRMB radio.

The free concert is part of a whole programme of Christmas events planned in the city, including the famous Frankfurt Christmas Market opening on the 12 November and the Christmas Reindeer and Lantern Parade on 15 November.

Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery are also putting on plenty of festive activities, including visits from Santa and the Nativity Trail – the chance to see how some of the world’s greatest artists have depicted the story of the nativity over the last 500 years.

Cllr Martin Mullaney, Cabinet Member for Leisure, Sport & Culture said: “This free concert will be a fantastic opportunity for people to get together and enjoy some of the biggest acts around to celebrate the start of the Christmas season.”
