JODIE Foster fans are likely to be far more satisfied by her turn in Flightplan than her bit-part role in Spike Lee's new cinema release this weekend, Inside Man.

The double Oscar winner keeps this in-flight movie in the air when lesser stars would have crashed.

Jodie plays recently-widowed Kyle who is flying back to the US.

When her daughter disappears in mid-air, how can she prove that Julia was ever on board in the first place?

Very contrived, but deliciously inventive, too.
