Where The Truth Lies (18)

IF YOU want some silly fisticuffs in Bridget Jones, then Colin Firth is your man.

A widower in search of home help in Nanny McPhee? Come on down!

A man to fill Darcy's shirt in Pride and Prejudice? Mr Firth.

In complete contrast, Firth brings a whole new meaning to the term 'Bacon sandwich' in Where The Truth Lies, a disturbingly-seductive erotic thriller of some substance.

Firth and co-star Kevin Bacon plays a couple of late 1950s TV stars whose success is threatened by tragedy.

Adapted from Rupert Holmes' novel by Egyptian-born writer-director Atom Egoyan, Where The Truth Lies is beautifully shot, compellingly acted, character driven and yet sexually very daring for mainstream Hollywood.

It makes quite a change to be shocked at the same time as being so highly entertained.

The DVD extras include deleted scenes, behind the scenes featurette and unedited footage.
