GOOD Night, And Good Luck had six Oscar-nominations including best picture, director and original screenplay.

But life is so unfair! Writer-director-star George Clooney had to make do with a best supporting actor win for his performance in the inferior Syriana instead.

Though shot in black and white and lacking the dramatic pace of the compelling trailer, this is a still relevant story about media freedom.

Clooney recalls the height of the witch-hunt against alleged communists, cleverly led by old footage of Senator Joseph McCarthy

Best actor Oscar nominee David Strathairn (Murrow) heads a raft of good performances and the DVD extras include a behind-the-scenes featurette.
