Taken (18)

REMEMBER Liam Neeson in The Big Man? Well, here he plays a very big man.

As former government operative Bryan Mills, he’s almost like a psycho on a mission when his daughter is kidnapped in Paris by Albanians – an easy target for any one-dimensional film looking for comic book villains.

But, since this is top quality action made as if it’s Leon-withlaughs (Leon director Luc Besson is the co-writer here), it’s easy to see why Taken’s delayed US release has seen the film go to No.1, five months after it was out in Britain.

Also available to buy for £19.99 (Blu-ray £28.99), the extras include a ‘making of’ featurette.
