HERE'S an unlikely footie film - a comedy about Iranian women using disguises in a bid to see the World Cup qualification match between Iran and Bahrain.

A mixture of hilarity and women's rights in the face of coarse male language, White Balloon director Jafar Panahi won the Silver Bear in Berlin this year after.

Using non-actors to accentuate the foolish reality of the situation, our leading protagonist is held with some other street-smart female fans in an area where they can only hear the match and their captors cannot give sensible answers.

Offside has yet to be cleared for screening in Iran.
