Them (15)

SO-CALLED horror movies like Boogeymen and current release The Return leave me cold with their telegraphed attempts to scare.

But David Moreau and Xavier Palud, the writer-directors of this French film, happily leave your brain to do some of the work. And the result is that you tend to grip your chair arms a whole lot more.

Teacher Clementine (Olivia Bonamy) and novelist Lucas (Michael Cohen) happily share a house in the middle of a Romanian forest until things start going bump in the night.

Inspired by true events and complete with an apposite score, this is a film about sharing a 78-minute journey into fear.

Anyone of a nervous disposition is not advised to take it!
