Brenda Blethyn playing Jean Dwight, an ageing and estranged English comedienne who has a second chance of fame Down Under, won't appeal to to a large number of younger cinemagoers.

Older audiences might not want the explicit scenes in which shy son Tim (Khan Chittenden) has formative sexual experiences with girlfriend Jill (Emma Booth), much to Jean's jealousy.
