Chase Forest Tour hits the right note

The Feeling

IF you go down to the woods today - you're sure to hear some great music.

The Forestry Commission's annual 'Forest Tour' arrives at Cannock Chase, near Rugeley, today with The Feeling performing tonight, James Morrison (below) tomorrow and Jools Holland on Sunday.

Hot Brit band The Feeling confirmed their popularity by quickly selling out their Cannock Chase date.

Last year belonged to the band as their four singles, Sewn, Fill My Little World, Never Be Lonely and Love It When You Call, were all huge hits and debut album Twelve Stops And Home sold 700,000 copies.

Constant radio airplay made The Feeling the most played band in the UK in 2006. This year started with a bang with Fill My Little World being nominated for Best Single at the BRIT Awards.

Singer Dan Gillespie Sells says: "We're really looking forward to doing these Forest shows.

"Last year we played a few festivals but people didn't really know our songs. I'm hoping that'll have changed this year."

Tomorrow's Cannock Chase performer is James Morrison, the British Male Solo Artist winner at 2007's Brit Awards.

The Rugby-born singer's debut album, Undiscovered, was one of 2006's top sellers and yielded hit singles like You Give Me Something, Wonderful World and Pieces Don't Fit Anymore.

Tickets for tomorrow's show are £23.50 (plus booking fee) from 01842 814612.

Jools Holland and his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra make their first visit to Cannock Chase on Sunday.

With Jools will be guest vocalists Lulu, Ruby Turner and Louise Marshall.

The musician-turned-TV presenter and his band have become established as one of the most prolific touring acts in the UK.

They create their own big band sound, playing a mix of boogie-woogie, swing, jazz and R'n'B. They now play around 100 live shows a year, with audiences totalling more than 500,000.

Tickets for Sunday's show are £30 (plus booking fee) from 01842 814612.
