Getting up close and personal

SCOTTISH singer Sandi Thom is to tour intimate venues across the UK, including Birmingham Glee Club on February 20, giving fans the chance to hear tracks from her second album, The Pink and The Lily, set for release in April.

Less than ten weeks after signing to the RCA label group in 2006, Sandi scored three number ones. Debut single, I Wish I Was a Punk Rocker, went to the top of both the iTunes UK download chart and the UK singles charts. The track has now gone on to become a chart-topper in four countries, including Australia where it remained a record number of 12 weeks at number one.

Her debut album, Smile . . It Confuses People, also climbed to the top of the album charts and since release has sold over 700,000 copies.

Last year Sandi toured the UK, including a set at Glastonbury, America, Australia, Europe and Japan, where she performed at the legendary Fuji Rocks festival.

Her forthcoming live shows will be solo acoustic performances.
