The Jam announce Birmingham date

Bruce Foxton

FROM The Jam featuring Bruce Foxton and Rick Buckler, two-thirds of the original line-up of The Jam, have announced a 12-date UK tour, including a show at Birmingham Carling Academy on December 20.

The band will perform their greatest hits and classic album tracks including Start, Going Underground and That's Entertainment.

New material is also currently being co-written with new band members Russell Hastings (lead vocal/guitar) and Dave Moore (guitar/keyboards).

"The fans worldwide have proven to us that they still feel as passionate about the music of The Jam as we do," says bassist Bruce Foxton. "We are genuinely overwhelmed by the support and interest in the band."

News of the UK tour follows sold-out shows in Australia, Canada and the USA - and will build on the success of last year's reunion shows in Britain.

Their December 2007 gig at London's Kentish Town Forum was filmed and will be released as the 'A First Class Return From The Jam' DVD on June 9.

Tickets for the Birmingham Carling Academy gig on December 20 are on sale now from 0844 847 2269 or www.ticketmaster.co.uk.
