Rushing towards stardom

Name: Nick H (drums).

Age: 26.

Home: Harborne.

Band: The Rush Hour.

Other members: Alan Rowe (lead vocals/guitar), Marcus Ariss (lead vocals), Chaz West (bass), Rich Boxley (guitar).

Band history: Alan co-wrote the first songs in 2006, recording them with acoustic guitar. The original sessions can be heard on therushhour.net. Marcus, Rich, and Nick joined soon after, with Chaz completing the line-up in 2007. Work began on the four-track EP, entitled 'The Rush Hour'. We're now planning more studio time this year, while doing as many gigs as we can.

Type of music: Grunge/ Rock/Experimental.

Influences: Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Beatles, Kaiser Chiefs, Raconteurs and Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

Current favourite band: The Black Dove Experiment.

Current favourite album: Precious Time by James Happenick.

Record deal?: Currently unsigned.

Current release: The Rush Hour EP (available from www.therushhour.net/cart/).

Musical highlight: Our previous gig - at Bar Academy performance on February 28 (but every gig we do is better than the last).

Ambition: Using energetic performance as the conduit through which to add some much needed intelligent debate to the music scene.
