Aladdin, The Vesey Players, Bishop Vesey Grammar School, Sutton Coldfield

THE enthusiastic cast give a rousing rendition of There's Light At The End Of The Tunnel for their finale as the panto season refuses to end.

It might be worth giving that little number a run much earlier in this show to let the audience know better things are on track.

Written by Sam Rathbone and Colin Townsend, who excel on stage as Stu Pid and the slightly gay Genie, this version of the famous old panto lacks pace in the early scenes, but the second act is much sharper and amusing.

It's set in Little Hong Pong where the scruffy Aladdin has eyes only for Princess Poppy Tupper, but the power-mad Abanazar, who wants to rule the world, comes between them.

Bryony Tindall is a confident Aladdin, with Kerry Daniels in fine voice as pretty Poppy.

The old magic lamp gets its final rub tomorrow night.
