Popcorn, Highbury Little Theatre, Sutton Coldfield

THE language is not for the faint-hearted, but the off-the-wall humour and the seemingly endless supply of one-liners, delivered by a company of unfailing talent, ensures that Ben Elton's excoriating look at society's self-serving values gets the airing it deserves.

Wayne Ingram is excellent as the intruder who has left a trail of mayhem across four states before he arrives at the home of a Hollywood film director.

He's frightening, he's unpredictable and he's merciless - but he does appear devoted to Scout, Laura Chinn's daffy caricature blonde with a face that launches a score of expressions.

A talented cast has Sarah Garrington, Louise North and Sarah Hickman in excellent form. Tony Rogers' production runs until Saturday.
