Kiss Of Death, Hall Green Little Theatre

AN EXCELLENT company provides spine-tingling moments and touches of welcome humour as Roy Palmer's production unwinds the story of a psychopathic killer who manages to stay one step ahead of the police.

With four young women already to his name, the man known as The Surgeon is faced with a fifth. But this one is an actress. She has turned up for a workshop and discovered that its purpose is to use her as bait to catch him.

From here on, author Simon Williams has us increasingly on tenterhooks.

There are commendable performances from Rebekah Shields - she is the feisty young woman who is persuaded to put her life on the line - and Graham Walker (Bernard).

Things grow rapidly more serious when her situation becomes apparent, with Mel Hulme as the senior officer in charge of the case and Oliver Blake as his fearsome quarry.

This is pulsating stuff. It's a credit to all concerned and runs until Monday, March 24.
