Royal Shakespeare Company announces spring season

THE Royal Shakespeare Company kicks off the spring season with a new production of The Merchant of Venice.

Directed by Tim Carroll and designed by Laura Hopkins the show plays in repertoire at various dates between April 3 and late September.

Featuring the Jewish merchant Shylock and his bargain to take a pound of flesh from one of his deadliest enemies in payment of a debt, Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice will be joined by productions of The Taming of the Shrew, A Midsummer Night's Dream and Hamlet during the spring and summer.
