Cold Comfort Farm, Lichfield Garrick

SOME of the characters in Paul Doust's adaptation of Stella Gibbons' novel seem barking mad down on Cold Comfort Farm, but you learn to love them.

It's an extraordinary tale, cleverly handled by the proam cast consisting of members of Lichfield Players and the Garrick Rep Company.

There is an outstanding performance from former Birmingham School of Acting student Georgina Stamp who plays glamorous Flora Poste, the terribly sweet girl from London who arrives at the farm and sets about bringing order to the mixed up lives of oddball relatives.

You have to take your hat off to the skill and imagination that goes into staging this strange play, directed by Kim Gillespie. It runs to tomorrow night.
