The Wedding Singer, Hippodrome Theatre

TEN years on from the hit movie, The Wedding Singer is continuing to rock them in this outstanding new stage version.

After a successful run on Broadway last year, this non-stop, feelgood musical has arrived in the UK ahead of its planned West End debut.

For Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore in the 1998 film, read Jonathan Wilkes and Natalie Casey (from Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps TV fame).

They combined superbly in this refreshingly honest and vibrant show which benefits from a genuine storyline and moments of great humour to add to the 80s music score.

Jonathan produces probably his finest hour as wedding singer Robbie, lead singer of Simple Wed, who is dumped at the altar only to find love again.

But Natalie is equally impresses with a superb vocal display.

Until Saturday.
