Titanic, Worcester Operatic & Dramatic Society, Swan Theatre, Worcester

A MOMENTOUS theme deserves the musical it has been given, and it deserves this stirring, compassionate production.

A fine company, clearly possessed of many fine individual voices and flourishing exciting and powerful chorus work, has its audience totally absorbed in the events of April, 1912. The fact that we know the outcome, that we know we are watching walking corpses, gives an extra, unsettling edge.

John Clay's superb voice, both speaking and singing, as Captain Smith, is a tremendous asset.

But Philip Beeson's production is too well-blessed to mention all those who merit it. It runs until Saturday.
