The Complete Works Of William Shakespeare (Abridged), Lichfield Garrick

THE remarkable thing about this ongoing Shakespearean romp is that the writers and cast manage to keep it fresh with new material on the same theme.

The basic concept is the same, cram in every play by the bard into 97 minutes of mayhem. The comedies, for example, are condensed into one short scene with a cast of three and a collection of masks.

Old favourites are in there such as Titus Andronicus being restaged as a cookery programme or the history plays reduced to a game of American football.

The show runs at breakneck pace with plenty of costume changes and non-stop madness and it is still original and still very funny.
