The Seven Year Itch, The Grange Players, Grange Playhouse, Walsall

TWO people in the lead roles dominate this George Axelrod comedy, but the clever production clearly succeeds through a considerable amount of teamwork, on and off stage.

There is a striking set, representing Richard and Helen Sherman's smart New York apartment.

It's a real challenge to get the timing right, but in the main it succeeds.

With his wife and son away on a summer break, it triggers Richard into thinking about his seven years of marriage and wasted opportunities.

When the missile turns out to belong to a shapely stunner, his fury is quickly transformed to lust.

Gary Pritchard gives a wonderful performance as the penitent publisher, repeatedly troubled by his conscience, and Zoe Roberts sparkles as the girl who may, or may not, be ready for action.

It runs to Saturday May 17.
