Trailer full of surprises

STRAIGHT from the Edinburgh Fringe, The Great American Trailer Park Musical stops off at Birmingham's Alexandra Theatre next week.

The show takes us to the Armadillo Acres Trailer Park where not every caravanner is at peace with those around them.

The musical comedy which began life in the United States of America introduces 'stripper on the run' Pippi who, when she meets Dr Phil and his wife Jeannie, finds that the country's famous tornadoes are not just weather phenomena.

And in true showbiz fashion, the show also features surprise guests, which have recently included Tony Hirst and Jake Hendriks from Hollyoaks, pulled from the audience each night.

Show bosses are keeping tight-lipped about the guest appearances in Birmingham but are promising there will be a few surprises.

* On stage at the Alex between Aug 26-30, tickets: 0870 607 7533.
